Opti—Learn to Sail
Beginning sailors ages 8-14 start with this class to learn the fundamentals of sailing aboard SailQubes—simple, safe introductory sailing platforms—with age-appropriate instruction and supervision. Choose from one- or three-week classes—or sign up for multiple one-week sessions.

420/RS Quest—Learn to Sail
Designed for older, more mature beginning sailors ages 12–18 who have sized out of one-person boats. This class teaches the fundamentals of sailing aboard Club 420s or RS Quests—our multi-crew sailboats. Choose from one- or three-week classes—or sign up for multiple one-week sessions.

Advanced Beginner / Intermediate Sailing
Advance your sailing skills, develop independence, and learn to sail new boats, which may include Opti, Club 420, RS Quest, or Laser. Designed for students ages 9-18 who have successfully completed at least one session of Learn to Sail. Choose from one- or three-week classes—or sign up for multiple one-week sessions.

Learn to Race
Students who have completed Advanced Beginner / Intermediate Sailing and have an interest in learning basic racing skills aboard an Opti or Club 420—sailing a race course, racing rules, starting techniques, and more—may join this exciting class. Permission of the Director is required.

Team SJJF Racing
Team SJJF trains twice a week and competes in regional regattas for students ages 8-18 ready to take on the excitement and challenge of sailboat racing. Permission of the Director is required.
Level: Advanced Beginner / Intermediate
Adventure Sailing
One-week program designed for sailors with basic sailing skills, a taste for adventure, and eager to develop seamanship and confidence aboard a variety of vessel types. Explore the river, navigate to St. Joseph landmarks, plot a course, learn the rules of the road, how to anchor, and more.
Level: Beginner — Intermediate
Youth/Adult Intro to Keelboat
Interested in experiencing sailing aboard a “big” boat? Learn the basics of sailing as part of a crew aboard a J-24 keelboat during a one-week course. Class size limited to four sailors.
