Adventure Sailing

Level: Advanced Beginner / Intermediate – ages 12-18

Adventure Sailing

Ready to take your sailing to the new level?

This week-long program is designed for teens ages 12–18 who already have basic sailing skills and want more challenge, more confidence, and more adventure on the water. Each day brings new on-water missions shaped by student interests, instructor expertise, and the day’s conditions.

Sailors might anchor out for a swim, cruise the river, trim sails for speed, practice man-overboard drills, or learn to fly a spinnaker. Along the way, they build advanced skills in sail trim, boat handling, safety, weather awareness, and passage planning.

Students sail a variety of boats to match student interests, instructor expertise, and prevailing weather conditions, while receiving hands-on coaching both on shore and on the water.

For teens ready to move beyond the basics, this is where adventure sailing begins.

Students are required to wear a life jacket (provided) at all times while on the docks and on the water.

Prerequisite(s): Successful completion of Advanced Beginner/ Intermediate Sailing class or equivalent experience. Pass swim test, which consists of swimming 25 yards and treading water while wearing lifejacket.
